PHOS 1.0 - a new idea!

PHOS 1.0 is a single stage conversion coating product that deposits an iron phosphate coating on steel in high pressure, non-recirculating washers and it ships as a non-hazardous product!

PHOS 1.0 contains no free phosphoric acid and is not-regulated by the DOT. This means no hazardous up-charge fees. Special accelerators deposit coatings from room temperature to 180 plus degrees. You save money on shipping and you save money by lowering your thermostat.

It is used at or below 1% in most applications but some alkaline or highly buffered water may require higher concentrations.

There are four versions of PHOS 1.0 currently available:

LH PHOS 1.0 is a high-detergent, low-acid, highly-accelerated product designed to deposit a good iron phosphate coating on steel at room temperature to 180 degrees. It cleans a wide variety of soils. Some sols are removed more effectively at higher temperatures, but you have the option of turning the temperature down or off for lighter soils.

SB PHOS 1.0 is a low-detergent, low-acid. highly-accelerated product designed to treat steel which has been previously cleaned by sandblasting, alkaline cleaning, vapor degreasing, or other methods. It can be used at room temperature to 180 degrees. Unlike other products, SB PHOS 1.0 does not produce flash rust on these active metal surfaces. With precleaned metal there is no need for temperature anymore. Why heat the solution if you do not need to clean the metal?

OF PHOS 1.0 "contains no materials considered hazardous by OSHA". However this does not make it a 100% safe product. It still is an acidic product and is used at high pressure or high temperature. It contains less irritating detergents and no glycol ethers which may be irritating to sensitive individuals.

ST PHOS 1.0 is designed for steam phosphating operations. It deposits an iron phosphate and leaves no residues to get in the way of paint adhesion.
